David McConnell founded Shamrock Prototyping in 1992 when he
realized the need for prototyping and low volume modeling parts and tools
in the metro-Atlanta area. David's 25 year background in plastics, prototyping,
and modeling with Papago Plastics (Rochester) prepared him to begin Shamrock
Prototyping with a single Bridgeport knee milling machine. Douglass Northup
joined the company in late 1992 and brought twenty years of experience in
shipping, warehousing, and production management with Smith Corona Corporation
in Cortland, NY. Douglass's business acumen teamed with David's technical
expertise has brought Shamrock Prototyping to its current success. From its
early days with a single milling machine, Shamrock Prototyping has grown
to utilize five milling machines, four of which are equipped with
computer-numeric controls (CNC's), which allows Shamrock Prototyping to create
products with tolerances within thousandths of an inch.
